Have you ever been so completely new to an area that driving to the grocery store is an accomplishment? This would be my delightful new neighbors. They arrived here last week from AZ, not knowing a person, place, or thing in the entire state, other than where the dad works.
We had them over for dinner Sunday, their four children are settled in to the local schools, carpools, etc. and now it is time for me to help get the mom settled in.
Today, I will be wearing my Tour Guide Hat. I will show her the basics of the area..the important stuff like The Mall, Target, WM, Publix, Panera Bread, Field of Greens, Ultima Fitness, Yanos Deli, The Community Center, The Polo Fields, The International Polo Center, The Hospitals, and on and on. There is so much to show her, we won't make it to the Beach or Palm Beach. That is for another day.
I will be her personal GPS for the day.
If you are from my area, what would you show her?
The more I think about it, I live in a pretty great area. Lots to show, lots to see, lots to do. I am off to the shower before my big day!
Speaking of Big Days....tonight is Gingerbread House Building at my House.....Yep...25+ girls converge upon me at 6pm. Bring em on...you know I am ready. As always...photos to follow and a Gingerbread (Graham Cracker) House Tutorial before the week is over.

You can't forget Carmen's favorite...although there isn't one directly in Wellington. POLLO TROPICAL! We are still trying to figure out how we'll get there next weekend when we're down for Ryan's wedding.

You have to show her the dump. You know the refuge disposal building behind Walmart. I took everyone who came to town. I had never seen anything like it. In CA, you drive long dirty road to a huge hole in the ground where bull dozers are pushing smelly garbage about. It's nothing like the pristine "dump" behind Walmart!!
Florida does have Mount Trashmore though!! The higest point in Florida along side the turnpike on the way to Miami. Smells like CA dumps.
