Happy Birthday to my dear friend, Katie K! A steadfast, loyal friend is the best description of Katie. Often I say, that I did not I did not choose my friends, God chose them for me. As only God would do, he made the perfect choices for me. He has surrounded me with friends who are my family. We have laughed and cried, celebrated and commiserated in every area of our lives. Raising our children and serving in Church together have provided many fond memories.
Twenty Four years ago, she had her first child. I prepared dinner for her family and headed to her house to deliver the feast. Upon arrival, I tripped and the dessert spilled all over the sidewalk. I felt terrible. Thankfully, this meal casualty did not put a damper on our friendship.
Twenty Two Years ago, she was also very patient when I, along with a few others, "Toilet Papered" her house Three Times (well, almost Three Times) in one night on her husband, John's, Birthday. Every time it got cleaned up, we headed back to re-decorate. However, on the third time, we got caught! John was waiting for us. He confiscated the car keys (we had a spare with us, thank goodness) and turned the garden hose on us. We escaped with fun memories that are still good for a laugh and reminiscing smile.
Oh, to have that much energy again!
