Although this photo did not turn out well, I wanted to post it in honor of Sean's visit. He and his dad and Ian went on a cruise last week. Sean was able to attend church yesterday prior to his return to Utah. I enjoy seeing my children and their friends all grown up. (Note the Allred, I mean, Eagle Scout plaque in the background) Sean shared his testimony yesterday and I wish all of you could have heard him. He spoke about being in the Young Men's Program at 16 and deciding which way his life was going to go. He spoke about the influence of then Young Men's President, Mark Watson, now known as Bishop Watson. He told all the Young Men he expected them to serve honorable 2 year missions, marry in the temple, and remain worthy. That has been the case for that entire group of Young Men. We had 7 of those Young Men serving missions at one time, which is a rare occurrence away from the west. Sean said he was thankful for that challenge and it helped him make the best decision he has ever made in his life.. to serve a mission. Sean graduated from BYU and will be attending UofU for his Masters in the fall. Way to go!
Time for a Good-Bye to Ryan, Becky, and Cindy. They left for Utah today to begin a new life. I wish them all the best on this new adventure. Cindy left her mark in so many ways for so many years here. As a departing gift, she gave me a beautiful pewter bread platter embossed with "Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread" So typical of Cindy to be thinking of others when she has so much going on around her.
