As we were standing in the ankle to knee deep water ( the tide was just coming in to the inlet), a wave of excitement rushed from person to person--- there was a HUGE Loggerhead Sea Turtle** swimming in to Crab Island! It was almost 3 feet wide (yes, it was huge). It was so exciting. Soon one of the lifeguards had to come check on the turtle. He said they get in to the inlet and then cannot get out. The turtles are very protected and watched over. None of us could find where the turtle ended up as the water got very dark at some places and we could not see. It was my "Finding Nemo" day at the Beach!
**I have learned a lot about Sea Turtles recently and we are hoping to go on a night time turtle watch to see the babies hatch and head to the sea. There are so many nests on the beach right now. Every morning, a group of Sea Turtle Volunteers meet at the beaches to note the new Turtle Nests formed during the night. They stake the area, mark the date, and rope it off for protection. Very exciting to watch.

alison and me love how katherine and megan still dress alike no matter what the occasion!
It is a great safety measure at the beach. I know which swimsuit to look for. If one gets lost, I can show what the other one looks like for other people to help me look.
