A Mix Worth Trying...
When it comes to brownies, cookies, cakes...basically... all the good stuff, I have never been fond of mixes. From scratch, home made is always my first choice. However, this Brownie Mix changed my mind about ready made mixes. Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix: Every bit as good as the name implies.
At Costco, I buy the large box containing five mixes and keep it on hand for last minute surprises or a planned totally wonderful treat. The instructions are easy. My young girls can mix up a batch with little or no help. They are delicious warm or when cooled, alone or with ice cream. For Valentines Day, I cut them into small bite-sized heart shapes. If you are chocolate lover, try this mix, you will not be disappointed. **Tip: I do not bake them as long as the package says to by almost 10 minutes less. Brownies, of any recipe, should never be over-baked and these are no exception.

We LOVE these in our home!! Nik and my mom bought a box of these and I fell in love! We buy the huge box at Costco too. After eating these no brownie can ever compare!
As a side note, Nik learned in a baking science classes in college that no better cake can be made than one out of a box. I thought that was interesting.
Oh and thanks for the baking tip, I'll have to try it for less time. Also, Nik said you don't want to over mix brownies because it will ruin the consistency. I never knew you could over mix them- that is why I married a flour milling scientist!
Yes, over-baking and over-mixing will ruin any batch of brownies. I just ground some wheat for Whole Wheat Bread. I would love to have Nik analyze my flour, gluten content, etc....
If we ever make it to Florida I'm certain Nik would love too look at your flour and tell you everything there is to know about wheat- including the best products to use for what. Just a warning, it could be a loooong conversation because he knows so much about all that stuff and LOVES to talk about it!
