A Full Weekend

Friday Agenda
6AM Drive to Seaworld, Rachel's Wedding at Orlando Temple, My Dad's Birthday at Golden Corral, Back to Seaworld, Return Home at 1AM...
A very packed, yet fun day.
This was Megans first trip to Seaworld (she totally loved every second) and the first that Katherine can remember (we went when she was 18 months old). Other than when Andrew was 2, Seaworld has not been a place our family has visited often. It was a delightful trip, uncrowded and very clean.

Ron and I are happy to report: The Hostetler "Theme Park Curse" seems to have been lifted. When the boys were little, a trip to a Theme Park or Zoo was a guarantee for heavy, all-day rain.We have Rain Ponchos from Seaworld, Disney, Metro Zoo, EPCOT, etc. Our memory of Seaworld with the boys was dodging Rain from exhibit to exhibit and sheltering Andrew in the stroller as we all huddled under a small covered area.

This year, Seaworld and their sponsor, Anheuser Busch, offer admission to Military Personnel and their families. The Promotion is called Honor the Heroes, I believe. I am not sure if it is free or a discount (they deserve it to be free). At the beginning of each Shamu show, there is a tribute to the US Military Members, past and present. It is very emotional-I cried. I appreciate Seaworld and AB being vocal in their support of those serving in the Military. This is a time in history when many corporations are concerned with being Politically Correct and would not be bold in this well-deserved tribute. I plan to write them a thank you letter.
Eight years ago, I took a photo of Ben and Andrew in front of this Seaworld Lighthouse. How my life has changed from the days of having teens in my every day world.
Visiting Seaworld first thing in the morning, then leaving for the wedding, and returning for the evening was perfect. We avoided the sweltering, humid, melt-down heat of mid-day.
Notice- The girls are sporting Back To School Haircuts. Megan leaves for Utah this week to stay with Curt and Carmen. Her hair was so long and out-of control, I could not ask Curt and Carmen to deal with the hair maintenance sessions required several times per day. It was time.
