Speaking of Positive Role Models In Media.....
In my previous post on American Girl Books, I mentioned it is increasingly difficult to find positive role models in books, film. music, or any media, for that matter.What a breath of fresh air The Nancy Drew movie was!!!! She dresses modestly (love her wardrobe), she is super smart and not afraid to be a "nerd", speaks with civility, uses manners, is cheerful, shows respect, and is not afraid to be true to herself.
We need more movies like this!
We saw it on Monday. It was quickly shoved out of our local Theaters to make room for Harry Potter 5. Finally, it came to The Silver Screen Cinema and Cafe (Wellington's version of The Dollar Movies), which means, hopefully, it is headed to DVD soon. I will definitely purchase this DVD.
