Hairspray Soundtrack

Love This Soundtrack....From Beginning To End!
Dance... Dance... Dance...
Sing... Sing... Sing...
Last night was Girls Night Out for Megan, Katherine, and me. We finally saw Hairspray at the local Silver Screen Cinema and Cafe. It is an old theater, but cute in it's own way. One of those institutions here in Wellington. You can order dinner and eat during the movie. The seating is more restaurant style than theater seating. Very casual. Not the greatest sound system, but just a fun blast from the past sort of place.
This movie is set in 1962. I told my girls that this story took place when I was a little girl. Now they think that all I did when I grew up was Dance, Dance, Dance. I did not help dispel this perception when I purchased the CD and we Danced, Danced, Danced all morning to the Hairspray Soundtrack. Such fun music. I taught them the Cha-Cha and we had so much fun pretending we were on a TV Dance Show. I am sure we looked nuts.
Rarely would I go buy an entire Soundtrack, but this is totally fun from start to finish. I did notice that half the theater (who had obviously seen the movie multiple times) would sing with each song. I understand why,
Cute movie.... Great Dancing and Music!

We too saw Hairspray and had a jolly god time. I loved John Travolta as Edna. I'm very disappointed to say, the entire time we were in Wellington we never made it to the Silver Screen Cinema and Café. What a kick! I do believe we missed out.
