Finally....
Binks Forest Golf Course Is Open
Literally In My Back Yard...
Yesterday the front 9 holes of Binks Forest Golf Course opened. As I drove through the neighborhood this morning, I was overcome with the beauty of the manicured greens, the tall pines (very unusual for a Florida Golf Course), and the peaceful surroundings.
There were several groups of golfers out enjoying the course.
I live on the 14th green, which opens officially when the back 9 holes open in three weeks. The fact that I live on a golf course shows what an obedient child my parents raised.*** (really)
The Course is open and now the Club House renovation begins. Considering it sat empty for the past 6 years, it is in amazinly great condition. I look forward to the return of the Club House where we enjoyed many happy events, Thanksgiving Dinner, Daniel and Erika's wedding, Family Pizza Night, Graduation Parties, Baby and Bridal showers, etc.It feels like an old friend returning.
Pack your Clubs and come for a visit. It is even more beautiful in person.
Katherine and Megan cannot wait until the holes behind us open. They want to go collect stray golf balls. (This is genetic...you haven't lived until you put on a long-sleeved shirt and go through the underbrush with my dad in search of stray golf balls)

Fall in Florida.... it just does not get any better than this!
***Growing up, my parents instructed all 4 of their children as to how we were to accommodate their retirement years. They planned on spending 3 months per year with each of us. We were to settle on or near Golf Courses and in warm weather. I have managed both! If it takes living in this sunshine and on this beautiful golf course to be obedient, I will do it!
Now... if any one of us could predict where they would land next! They keep a pace that makes me tired to watch. This week, my dad begins serving as the Florida Orlando Temple President and my mother will serve as the Matron. Hopefully, there will be time for golf.

Not only did we have our civil ceremony and reception there, but we roller bladed all around those golf cart paths on our first date, June 13, 1995. Good times.
will it be available to rent for a reception? Also look at my blog...got some new stuff up? got a few reception ideas and plans to talk to you about!
