Race For The Cure 2008
West Palm Beach on Flagler Drive
It was a picture perfect day for Megan and me to participate in the annual Race For The Cure.
Race For The Cure is a Nation wide event held all year long in most major cities. I would highly recommend you participate in some way. The 5K walk is non-competitive and full of people walking, talking and enjoying helping this cause.
Megan ran 2 miles of the Adult race and was waiting for me as I came across the finish line. My goal to RUN was mostly met. If I was not running, it was because of the roadblocks of people. There were 25,000 people participating and most of them were in the 5K walk division where I was. What a workout...running for 3 miles traversing through the crowd, dodging people, jumping up on the curb, jumping back down to the road, running fast, jogging in place, and on and on. It was hard not be a "tailgater" at times when I was behind a slow moving group. This was not the division for runners, but still more my speed.
Most of all...it was totally FUN!!!! Next year, my goal is to enter the Women's Run division.
This was after the race on the seawall on Flagler Drive. At this point, I my face was no longer beet red and my body was not dripping with sweat. I cannot say enough times how gorgeous the weather was today. This is why I put up with summer in South Florida. Winter is Paradise!
Megan and me near the finish line.
Megan took a little break on the sea wall before we headed to the car. She was an amazing trooper doing 2 miles of the Adult 5K race. She is a very determined person and when she puts her mind to something... she does it. This is a trait that will serve her will all the days of her life!

I truly think I might just come run with you next year! I'd much rather run in WPB than LA and there isn't a run in SD. See you then!!
Good Job! Fantastic cause too!
