MacArthur Beach State Park
Today, I got to go on the 2nd Grade Field Trip with Megan's class. I use the words "got to go" as I feel very blessed to be able to participate so actively in my children's school activities.
The nature trails in MacArthur Park are incredible. We walked the board walk all through the mangroves and native Florida foilage. Our guide was fascinating. He knew so much about Florida history, the plants, animals, early Indian settlers, etc.
It was a perfect day here in paradise!
I missed Andrew today.... This was his favorite Field Trip of Elementary School. Eleven years ago this month, Andrew came home from this same field trip so excited he could hardly take a breath. He was in love with MacArthur Park. I was pregnant with Katherine and had to miss the field trip that day, however, seeing his excitement, I packed him in the car with Grandma Cid, who was visiting, and we headed to MacArthur Beach State Park for the rest of the afternoon and evening. I will always remember that day, I hope he does now that he is 22 and serving in Peru as a missionary.
One of my goals for this year, besides getting my photos organized, is to be in more photos with my children. I don't like photos of myself, but I realize it is important to have a photo record of me at certain events and with my children, hence the above photo. I have never had a person refuse to take a photo of me when I ask, nor have I had them walk off with my camera. So far, so good!
MacArthur Beach State Park is a must see when visiting Palm Beach County! I am so happy to be reminded of its beauty and peace!
