Great Spring Cleaning Reads

Change Your Life Books...
Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat? by Peter Walsh
This recently published book by Peter Walsh is right next to my other 2 favorite "Organize Your Life" books by Don Aslett (see below). This book deals with the emotional aspects of all of our stuff (aka clutter and junk), our physical surroundings, our emotional state, and the direct connection. This is my kind of book with a message I love and need constantly!
I love Don Asletts' mantra.... "Dare To Dump It" and I find myself chanting this whenever I am cleaning out any area of my home or life.
Clutter's Last Stand by Don Aslett

Do I Dust Or Vacuum First? by Don Aslett
It is an amazing feeling to get rid of "stuff" and have order to my surroundings.

When my physical surroundings are out of sorts, so are my spirit and my body.
For years, I have prided myself on being a very organized person and a "non-pack-rat" with the ability to get rid of and organize "stuff', however, at some point, I turned my back for a few seconds and.....oh man....watch out.... the stuff multiplies itself right behind my back. The same thing happened to my body that I live in every day.... the weight just multiplied and moved in to stay without me taking charge.
Sometimes getting my house and body in order is totally overwhelming. At those times, getting my mind and spirit in order are overwhelming, also. However, when I get on top of one area, the other areas fall into step and it is very clear how connected each area is. There is no separation between the physical surroundings, the mind, body, and spirit.
As I am in the middle of my body change, my physical surroundings are falling into place, hence my mind and sprit are de-cluttered and tuned in to the things that are most important.
For the last 10 days, I had hit a weight loss plateau, very frustrating, however, I realized that I had also hit a plateau with several household projects. Once I put the projects back in motion and got my surroundings cleaned up , the weight began to budge. My focus was back and I am on the way to a more peaceful existence again. Further proof that weight loss is about much more than the body and exercise. It is about the mind and the spirit embracing positive lifestyle changes.

Little by little, as I de-junk my body, my life is de-junked at every level.
Read the above books... your life will change!

De-Junking your physical surroundings is better than most any therapy!

I taped that particular Oprah but deleted it before watching it. Bummer! I remember referring to him years ago when I was Homemaking Leader. Many years ago!
Gee, I know my butt looks big so maybe my house is telling me something.
