Get Ready For Leap Day This Leap Year
Hop, oh I mean, Leap, To The Target Dollar Spot
Hooray for Leap Day....an extra day every 4 years. The party animal in me looks at this as a day for celebrating! An extra day.... and extra party!!!
How convenient that this Leap Day falls on a Friday... a perfect night for hosting a party!
I found these frogs at the Target Dollar Spot. I will use them in some sort of centerpiece, decorating, or party favor for Leap Day.
If you are up for it, do everything backwards, eating, reversing the chairs, using the back door for guests, wearing you clothes backwards, sleep with your head at the foot of the bed, etc.
Have fun with a theme that only presents itself every 4 years.
Here Is My Fun Leap Day Memory!
On Leap Day, 28 years ago, Ron and I went to a Ladies Choice Ball...He was my choice! We went went to The De la Fontana Restaurant in Salt Lake and the dance was held at the Utah State Capitol Building Rotunda. I think the meal cost me almost an entire week's pay (not really, but at that time, it felt like it. Later, Ron told me how guilty he felt that I paid for such a nice dinner when I did not have much money and he had a full time good paying job)
While we were at the dance, in keeping with the spirit of Leap Year/ Leap Day, a girl asked her boyfriend to marry her. As the proposal and engagement were announced, being the impulsive person I am, I thought to myself, I should ask Ron to marry me right here and now. Of course, I thought twice and realized the timing was off and we had not known each other that long, etc..... However, I already knew he was my choice, but it was good I did not ask, as he was not as far along in his thoughts as I was.
Just what will you do with an extra day this year??????
What are your plans to celebrate Leap Day this Leap Year? Do you have any great ideas from years past? Do share.
