A Sweet Reunion

Service Is A Blessing
Last week, after dinner with dear friends, David and Denise, Ron and I drove away saying how absolutely blessed our lives are to have the many friendships we have. We concurred that the most treasured relationships have come during our many years of serving in whatever callings we have been asked to fulfill as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The bonds that are formed while doing the Lord's work are the strongest and sweetest.
When President Hinkley said that everything good in his life has come because of his membership in The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I completely agree.
April 22, 1984:
Ron was 30, I was 23. We had two little baby boys.
On this day, I was released from serving as a Ward Relief Society President and Ron was set apart as a Bishop. His assignment was to preside over a Single Adult Ward. This is the day that many treasured friendships began.
Ron had 2 Counselors. David P (pictured below) was his Counselor the entire time he served and Larry R was called shortly after. Through thick and thin, ups and downs, they were the most supportive Counselors a Bishop could ever ask for. We were all young, with young children, health challenges, career challenges, and everything else that comes with the territory of being young and starting out. This Bishopric and their families were blessed beyond any of our wildest dreams. In the process, many lives in that Ward were touched and forever changed. If that Bishopric and their wives along with former members of the Single Adult Ward were all in one room, I am certain we would all say that we would not trade those days for any other experiences.
We had the privilege of meeting up with David and his lovely wife, Denise, last week while they were in town on business. They are amazing people who love the Lord. We are so blessed to have their friendship and love.

Yes, David and Denise are tall, and yes, we are short!
What a breath of fresh air to meet up with David and Denise and enjoy their spirits.
We Love you, "Pahdnahs"!!!!!

I needed to be reminded of this today.. because I get so frustrated with my calling and the time that it takes.
