Hurricane Watching

Hurricane Preparation
Hurricanes are dancing all around Florida and at this point in the season, are focused anywhere but Florida. Relief....For this moment.
Living in Hurricane Territory, I watch the weather closely...sometimes a little too closely. The minute a wave comes off the coast of Africa, I get obsessed with where it is heading. I watch and watch and.....I take time to check and re-check my preparation level.
Here is Tropical Storm Dolly aiming at Texas and/or Mexico. It is expected to be upgraded to a Hurricane today. Keep the people in this area in your thoughts and prayers.
With each Hurricane I experience, I become a little more savvy in my preparation plans. At the beginning of every Hurricane season, I stock up on this.... Parmalat Long Shelf Life Milk. This milk, along with a stockpile of cereal is the best "After-Hurricane" food. I used disposable bowls and spoons and no cooking needed (which is great for the NO electricity we face for a few days)
Once we are free and clear out of Hurricane Season, I rotate these out and use them in baking, smoothies, cereal, or any other way we would use milk. It is not the first choice of my children, but if there is no other milk, they will drink it and be fine with it.
