A Week In Jerusalem

Vacation Bible School
Katherine and Megan just spent the week at the most amazing
Vacation Bible School.
St. Peters Methodist Church presented an incredible experience
based around Jesus' days living in Jerusalem. This was obviously a huge group effort with an entire years worth of planning and work.
The Vacation Bible School Committe actually took a trip to Orlando to the
Holy Land Experience for ideas to make this a special experience
Every day felt like a day in Jerusalem.
The Marketplace was set up in such an authentic way.
Each station was a freestanding tent (like you would see at a tailgate party)
with the tops covered in canvas.
The music, the food, the costumes, the dancing, the shops,
the activities, the stories.... It just went on and on.
Every detail was covered.
Each morning, upon arrival, the children dressed in full attire from that time period.
Belts were made out of braided strips of cloth and/or ropes. There were robes,
headbands, pouches for gold coins or other valuables they collected each day.
They experienced unleavened bread, figs, and many other snacks
that Jesus may have had while he was on earth.
There was a spirit of love and cooperation rarely seen or felt
with such a large group involved in such a detailed undertaking.
Thank you St Peters United Methodist Church
for providing this experience for my children and the community
of Wellington, Florida.
Each child in attendance has a greater love and appreciation
for our Savior, Jesus Christ.
