As I am setting goals for 2009, it requires a serious look back at 2008. I am in the evaluating, list-making stage of charting a successful productive coming year.
Katherine and I sharing ipod speakers at the beach yesterday.
In the past few years, I have not been as focused in the goal setting/achieving department individually or with Ron as other years. Generally, we spend several days at the beginning of each year "getting on the same page" as far as goals, travel, finances, children, career, household, etc. The years we do this are so productive. When we don't carve out the time to set a plan, we get blown around like feathers in the wind all year long.
This year, I am determined to not be a feather in the wind. With this resolve, I am spending a portion of each day making lists, reviewing needs of the past and present, and determining what I want to write at this time next year as I look back.
There are spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial goals to address, however, I find it helpful to examine the many hats I wear before I can set goals in any area.
Looking at my many roles in life helps me to stay balanced when looking at the direction my life needs to go.
Some need more attention than others and some receive automatic attention when I am focused on another role. Some areas, I dont set goals in, and others receive loads of my energy.
Here are few of the hats I wear (not in any specific order):
- Wife
- Mother
- Daughter on earth
- Daughter of God
- Sister
- Friend
- Church Callings
- Time Out For Women
- School Volunteer
- Community Volunteer
- Work, Career
- Neighbor
- Student
- Child of God
- Homemaker
- Blogger
I already have my 2009 Calendar posted and labeled! Hooray!
I have my 2009 Mary Engelbreit Desk Calendar ready! Hooray!
I ALMOST have my new blog up and going.
I am adding to and editing my lists every day! Hooray. 2009 is going to be great!
