Sunday Laugh

As Long As We Are Reverent....
Today, being Sunday, I don't want to admit it, but I went to the Grocery Store. This is not something I normally do on any given Sunday. Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy for me entails not going shopping or to restaurants, movies, theme parks, etc. These are events my family and I avoid when at all possible on Sunday.

There is the rare occasion, while travelling, or, when an emergency arises and we must venture out to a Grocery Store, Hospital, Doctor, etc. on Sunday. Like today.....

After Church, a visit to the Pharmacy at my local Grocery Store was necessary. Coincidentally, a dear friend needed me to pick up a few items for her, so.... off I went with Andrew, Megan, and Katherine. (In hindsight, I could have taken them home, but the store was on the way)

On the way to the store, I was giving the "Now you know this is a rare occasion for us to go the store on Sunday" talk. "We just don't do this for any old reason" and on and on.
The kids were on the same page with me, "Yes, Mom, we get it, we know...we don't go shopping on Sunday."

Then Megan gave us reason to laugh (although she was serious). "Mom, it will be OK for us to go shopping at the grocery store on Sunday as long as we are Reverent. We will be reverent in the Grocery Store, promise." Those Primary reverence lessons are carried to every corner of life..even the Grocery Store on Sunday.

And....we were reverent as we shopped on the Sabbath day.....Whatever that means. Does it count that we whispered in the store? Not?

Actually, it seemed that we saw everyone in town at the store (except my friends from Church). I could not make it up or down an aisle without someone stopping me. Have no worries....I had Reverent Conversations with each person I met!
