Memorial Day...

A Time to Remember and Give Thanks

Thank You to the men and women who have defended and served this

wonderful country, The United States of America.

Memorial Day always finds me at our Annual Church Picnic. One tradition I love is the honoring of all those who have served the United States in any Service Branch. All the men and women are called to the front of the Picnic Pavilion while we sing, say the pledge, and pray before lunch is served. This is always emotional for me.

This year, it feels great to not be in Charge of that HUGE picnic, as in so many years past. I love planning and putting on the Picnic, or any event for that matter, however, I am equally happy to attend and enjoy the fruits of others' labors.

Other than taking photos and bringing cookies, I don't have to think about much tomorrow....

I will, however, be thinking about those who made a day such as this possible..a carefree, enjoyable day spent with so many people I love in relative safety and peace.
