Not A Cafeteria Life

A few generations back, Ron hails from Amish/Mennonite roots.
As part of our travels, we visited the town of Sugarcreek, Ohio, where there are generations of Hostetlers at every turn. It is step back in time and a truly a breath of fresh air.
One of the highlights of visiting this area is being up close with the Amish and Mennonite people.
I have such a love and respect for these dear people and their way of life.
Megan was especially fascinated with many aspects of the Amish people.
She was excited at the fact that she could drive a small buggy at a very young age.
At one point, she asked if we could move to Ohio so she could drive a small buggy to Church, The Store, and School. She told me she would be happy to run errands for me and would take care of the horses all on her own.
We explained that No Electricity, TV, Air Conditioning, Heat, etc. came with the Buggy Privileges...
No Cafeteria Lifestyle for the Amish...just like living our chosen religion.
It did not take much more conversation for her to drop the dream of driving a Buggy around town.
Life is better without a Cafeteria Mentality.
In my experience,
Living all the teachings of Jesus Christ add up to true happiness.

Please tell me you bought and ate some of their bread? They have the BEST bread. In my mission there was a large Mennonite community and I always found a reason to buy their bread. Yummy!
