For now, I am preparing to watch THE ANNUAL NATHANS HOT DOG EATING CONTEST
on 4th of July....Live from Coney Island starting at 10:30am EST. When I drove by Coney Island a few years ago, I almost lost it just looking at the sign, you see, it takes a little working up to for me to be in the proper frame of mind to view this annual competition. (no explanation needed)
For some reason, our family gets very excited about this disgusting event. I generally have to watch with one eye covered as the contestants wolf down the soggy buns and whole hot dogs (I am getting sick just writing about it). We just get so darn excited to watch this event and cheer on the contestants. We laugh, we Ughhh, we cheer, we think it is great fun!!!
For certain, our phone will ring during the competition and we can count on one of our Family Members from a distant city to be calling to Laugh, Ughhh, and/or Cheer along with us!
What is more amusing to me....it is on ESPN. A sporting event???? I don't think so.
