These thoughts are precisely WHY I am heading out of town AGAIN, even though it would be easier to stay home and completely re-group from the last 3 weeks of travel.
Our Wedding Anniversary comes in the middle of most of the Birthdays and other Wedding Anniversaries in our family, not to mention, BACK TO SCHOOL is knocking at our door louder and louder each day!
At this point in the summer, we have usually spent enough time and money on vacation that it is easy to justify a "low key" celebration.
The truth is...there is NEVER a good reason to not:
- Celebrate your Wedding Anniversary in a BIG WAY (I did not say Big Cost)
- Plan a weekly date with your spouse.
- Plan getaways during the year for one night, one weekend, or a long day...just getaway.
Each year, we take turns planning the Anniversary Celebration and sometimes, I admit, I am just too tired to make it a "big deal" On the years, that I give in to the temptation to not make big plans, or I tell Ron not do to anything special, I spend the rest of the year regretting that decision and resolving to make a "big deal" out of the next year.
Well, this is MY year and we are leaving after lunch today....For a BIG, RELAXING CELEBRATION.No kids, No agenda, Lots of time in the car to TALK, Lots of time on the Beach to TALK, Lots and Lots of Time...TOGETHER...Just us.
Ron will learn our destination when he gets in the car. He is packed and our Bikes are on the Back of my car.
Everything will be here when we return...the Piles of laundry, the PTA Agenda, the bags of School Supplies to label, the dirty kitchen floor, the routines, etc. It will all be here and we will be better equipped to attack life TOGETHER.
Ask your hubby out on a date this week...plan it and make it fun, relaxing, and something you will both want to repeat NEXT WEEK.
And you are dying to know WHERE we are going?????
It could be down the street...it could be across the country...the destination is not as important as the plan to be together ALONE for an extended period of time.
St Augustine Beach....Here We Come.
