Miracles

Are Sitting Next To You and To Me...
The past 16+ years have been full of pain and sorrow for my dear friends as their son chose paths of self-destruction. Every time we were sure he had "hit bottom" there was a new low. Many nights my friends would not know where their son was sleeping, or if he was even dead or alive.
How could THEY sleep, I would wonder.
I felt helpless to know how I could help take away this pain, yet I came to realize what they had learned...the only thing I have to offer is faith, prayer, and love.
Through all of this, this is what his parents did....they prayed, fasted, loved, and kept faith as they showed unconditional love for their son.
S-T-E-A-D-F-A-S-T, U-N-W-A-V-E-R-I-N-G, U-N-C-O-N-D-I-T-I-O-N-A-L L-O-V-E like nothing I have ever seen.
They have been perfect examples to me of living these principles...EVERYDAY...NO MATTER how much pain, sorrow, or heartache came their way.
Sometimes the love was "Tough love" (tougher on them than their son, I am certain), never enabling or validating his poor choices, yet always available to love and support, whether he recognized or accepted those offers.

Well......Fast Forward to August 15, 2009...
Today, at The Orlando LDS Temple, I had the honor of witnessing a miracle. A modern day "Alma The Younger" Miracle took place as I watched this now, grown man, be sealed to his wife and their 3 sweet children.

This day gave me resolve to pray for the miracles in my life that I may have given up on or dismissed as miracles I am not worthy of.
Today, at a The Orlando Temple, I was reminded of this fact:
Miracles are not JUST for those who lived long ago in Scriptural Accounts
Miracles are not JUST for OTHER people.
They are for ME, They are for people I know in REAL LIFE, They are for YOU.
Miracles are sitting next to you and to me.
