Clean Up On Aisle 8

Come with me to Costco..today....I spilled a drink at the Food Court (one of my favorite lunch spots)
Immediately, I grabbed a wad of napkins and started to blot up the puddle. Soon the puddle was gone*.
It was simple.... I spilled and cleaned up the mess I made, however, while I was squatting down on my hands and knees cleaning the mess a lady said to me, "Don't clean that up...that is not your job. That is what THEY are for.) (pointing to the Food Court workers behind the counter). Ummm, let me see....I MADE a mess and I CLEANED up the mess.
It reminded me of the conversation I overhead in a fitting room. ...A mother told her daughter NOT to put the clothes back on the hangers, because it was "NOT OUR JOB."
Mmmmm too many people with that sort of attitude....Waiting for OTHERS to clean up the messes they make, literally and figuratively!
Wouldn't the world be a better place if EVERYONE cleaned up their OWN messes....everywhere? Imagine....personal responsibility being a priority in every corner of the world..
*For saftey reasons, if the floor had been wet or sticky, I would have told an employee.
