Stop and Enjoy The Moment

Two every day moments reminded me to stop and enjoy life right then and there. Of course, I captured them on camera.

1) An ordinary trip to Costco became an adventure for Megan before she put the goods away in the pantry. Taking a detour between unpacking the car and loading the shelves brought joy at a very ordinary moment. Mom-look a pyramid! Mom-I love putting away the Paper Towels...who would have thought.
2) The Baking Queen made Pumpkin Muffins last night. It was a new recipe with a long list of ingredients she had never used before. Alas, she made them from scratch without me hovering nearby. Turning Katherine loose in the kitchen is somewhat stressful as I usually focus on the mess she makes (we are working on the "good cooks are also good cleaner-uppers" philosophy). As they came out of the oven, she said, "Mom these smell like the best Muffins in the world". She was beaming. And she was right...they were amazing! It is not easy for me to take a detour, turn a child loose on a project that I could do faster, etc., yet , without fail, the most ordinary events provide the most extra-ordinary memories. I am thankful for the reminders to stop and enjoy the ordinary moments.
Happy Weekend!
May yours be filled with ordinary moments
and
extra-ordinary memories!
