Bread Is Life

Homemade Whole Wheat Sacrament Bread
This is quite possibly the easiest Whole Wheat Bread Recipe I have ever made. It is designed to make 1 loaf for a Bread Machine, but I made it with my Kitchenaid Mixer and it was perfect...simply perfect. I followed the directions exactly and the loaf came out of the oven 3 hours ago....there are only a few crumbs on my counter. (We had 2 missionaries here to help eat the bread when it was piping hot out of the oven!)
A Sister in our Ward makes this bread every week to use as Sacrament Bread. I am grateful for her sacrifice each week, not because the bread is so delicious, but because of her example of service. Her family has severe allergies and they must watch everything they eat. Making this bread ensures they don't have to worry about what ingredients may be in the bread used for Sacrament. Rather than complaining or demanding special treatment, she is part of the solution.
Follow this recipe exactly:
Whole Wheat Bread
(For a Bread Machine-yet you may use a mixer or make by hand)
2 C Warm Water
1 T Yeast
1/3 C Canola Oil
1/3 C Honey
4 C. Whole Wheat Flour
2 tsp Salt
Mix Water, Yeast, Oil, Honey, Salt, and 2  of Flour. Add 2 more cups of Flour. Dough will be much stickier than most bread dough recipes, so you must stir, not knead this dough. Don't be tempted to add extra flour!!!! Use oil or flour on your hands to shape the dough in a ball (more like a blob!) Place in a clean, oiled bowl and cover to let rise for 45-60 minutes. Press down center of cough with oiled or floured hand, and form into a loaf. place in a greased or non-stick bread pan and cover. Let rise another 45-60 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes. Enjoy hot out of the oven, yet slices best when cooled.
If using a bread machine, set the crust control to "light"
Enjoy!
Do you have homemade Sacrament Bread in your Ward ?

Decorations And Bread

Decorations And Homemade Bread
I keep my 4th of July decorations out the entire month of
July. I also use them on Pioneer Day, July 24th.
These easy, easy Centerpieces are built around a find
at the Target Dollar Spot.... the Buckets. They came in
Blue and Red. I have used them for 3 years now. Add 3
Flags, and voila... a centerpiece. The pieces store easily
with the Buckets stacking inside each other and the flags
all rolled up together. These made our Homemade Ice
Cream party yesterday very festive.
Just to document my success...since I have not mastered the
art of Homemade Bread...especially Whole Wheat Homemade
Bread. This bread ROCKS!!!!!
I made it myself and it tastes as good as it looks!!!!!
I served it with Butter and Honey Butter yesterday for Pioneer
Day. It was some of my best ever...Worthy of a photo and
mention on the Blog!!!!

I think I will call this Blog-Worthy Bread!!!! Can you tell I am just a little proud? I am still in awe of anyone who makes incredible Whole Wheat Bread. It is something I aspire to in some future season of life!
