Mr Clean Srubbing Bubbles
Automatic Shower Cleaner
On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) I give this product a 5. Here is why:
In May, I posted my latest experiment. The Commercials with the maids lurking in the shower ready to clean got my attention. I was not expecting a miracle, yet I was hoping for some help.
  • The Range of Spray needs to be larger. I found that I had to place the cleaner in 2 different spots for it to reach my entire shower.
  • A big beef--the batteries (4AA) ran out before both bottles of cleaner were used up. The cleaner has to be dry before changing the batteries, yet every time I thought of changing, I had just showered--therefore it was wet.
  • I don't think it really kept my shower any cleaner than the regular cleaning. I was not expecting to never scrub the shower again, but this did not seem to keep the soap and scum build up at bay.
  • It actually seemed to leave a film of it's own on the glass doors
Sad, but true, there is not substitute for human elbow grease to scrub something squeaky clean. I would prefer the maids in the commercial to come clean my shower over this little machine that needs some fine tuning. Great concept...I hope someone improves on the effectiveness.

My New Experiment

The Commercial worked on me... now I am hoping my experiment with this automatic shower cleaner works just as well! You have seen the commercial... the one with the maid that rises up to clean the shower after the woman gets out (that is actually sort of creepy to me).
Yesterday, I cleaned my shower sparkling clean. I am hoping, as the directions say that starting with a clean shower, this product, when used every day, will help maintain a clean, soap-scum-free shower. You can be sure I will report my results. The directions state that you can start with a dirty shower and see results within 12-14 days. I think mine was too dirty to see results in just 12-14 days without a lot of elbow grease from me! Plus I had to take the shower doors off and clean the tracks, etc. It was an all afternoon adventure.
For $19.99. I got the complete cleaning system with 2 refills and...... drum roll... when does this ever happen..... the Batteries ARE included. Yep 4 AA Batteries included. Now here is the infomercial coming out in me... and if that's not all... a $5.00 coupon was included for another complete cleaning system. ( I have 4 bathrooms, so this could prove to be very helpful) Not being much of a coupon saver or clipper, the $5.00 got my attention. I will buy one for Andrew's bathroom. That is the only other shower we use.
Since cleaning showers, or anything, is not my favorite, only one shower is used by the girls and Ron and Me. That way, the other 3 showers are always clean and do not need my attention on a regular basis. When company comes, they use Andrew's shower, so I think I will let the shower cleaning system help me maintain that shower. I could be dreaming, but maybe intense shower scrubbing will become an activity of the past. Nice dream.
I will report on the work of this new cleaning friend after I have replaced the first refill.
