I saw these featured on the Travel Chanel. Beignets from Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. I wanted to hop on a plane then and there to experience this treat. A few weeks later while perusing the shelves at Fresh Market-- this caught my eye--- Beignet Mix from Cafe Du Monde. I bought the mix, made the Beignets, and totally enjoyed them with my girls. We made sure they were loaded with powdered sugar! This was our Fat Tuesday celebration, as my sister, Jenni reminded us to eat something yummy. The whole New Orleans connection made it so perfect.
This mix can be ordered on-line at the Cafe Du Monde site or look at a specialty foods store like Fresh Market.
