New Member Of Our Family

It's A Boy!
Our Soft-Coated Wheaton Terrier puppy needs a name! It is easy to think of girl names, but the boy names are not coming as easily. Our puppy needs a name based on how he will look when he grows up, not on how he looks now. The photo below shows Megan holding our puppy with his mommy, Roxy, in front. Roxy is such a wonderful dog. Her temperament is perfect. She and the puppies are in such a loving environment. It was clear to see the love for each dog in that home.I feel very good about seeing where this puppy was born and raised and knowing what his breed is. I am very excited about finding this Non-shedding breed of dog that does not have a poodle mix in it. There is no skittishness with these dogs. Wheaton Terriers are good with children and all people. If watching Roxy is any indication, we are in for a life time of loving and fun
Last night, Ron and I took our girls to visit the puppies we previewed the night before. They had already gone to the bank to withdraw enough money for a deposit on a puppy in the event they decided (which was a given) that one of these puppies was for us. It was such a good lesson to have them pay the deposit with their own cash and see the connection between saving for something you really want and then getting it. I think this will help them feel more responsible for this new little puppy, also--I hope!
Right now, our puppy is going by the name, Sonny. We aren't sold on that name. He will grow up to look like a Benji.
Megan and Sonny. It is hard to visualize how these dogs will look after growing. Right now, they are just little furry teddy bears. Their coats become very light (wheat colored) and have long shaggy hair that can be kept trimmed short (in this heat, I am sure we will keep him trimmed short). Being that these dogs do not have a secondary coat, hence, no shedding, their one and only Primary coat needs to be trimmed and maintained a few times per year. The choice was between 5 of the 6 puppies. Roxy had 3 boys and 3 girls. One boy was already spoken for. He has been named Rocket. Megan is holding Sonny and Katherine is holding Pumpkin, the two boys we decided to focus on. We explained all about girl dogs and going in to heat, etc. and our girls did not have to be talked in to choosing a boy. Nuff said.
Ronnie Mack Daddy with his new little boy. This little boy will balance the estrogen levels around here, especially in the next few year when he deals with PMS and Menopause simultaneously.
For those who know me, my nose is ultra sensitive... I can sniff out anything anywhere, almost as well as my mother. I can walk into my house and smell if someone has been there. That being said, I am not keen on dog smelling houses, or smelly dogs. One thing that amazed me is that this house was over run with 6 puppies, their mother, Roxy, and a cat, yet I could not smell evidence of animals. I was impressed.
Ron and I return from Utah on October 8 and will pick up our fuzzy ball of joy on October 9, as soon as the school dismissal bell rings, I am certain.
He will be 9 weeks old when we bring him home.. Then the fun begins. That is when I forget that I don't swear.
ANY NAME IDEAS ACCEPTED, PLEASE DO NOT BE OFFENDED IF THEY ARE NOT USED. YOUR IDEAS WILL BE ADDED TO OUR GROWING LIST.

I like people names for pets. When I realized there wouldn't be anymore babies in my life, I named our dog "Hunter" after the son who never came. :)
"Bayley" our cat was the daughter I couldn't have and the grand daughter Britt didn't have.
Okay, Okay, so Hunter and Bayley pass as pet names without anyone thinking twice!!

I'll phone you with New York's first choice for the name. :)
He has suggested Boris (boy am I glad we didn't have babies!) or Chaos (or Khaos.)
Me? I like Sidney. My puppy's name is Sydney...I'm still contemplating breeds and she will be a little girl.
