Soccer Daughter

Megan LOVES Soccer....
The verdict is in, after one practice, Megan is in love with every thing Soccer. She is signed up for a 12 week Soccer Academy, which is an Instructional Academy. She learned more last night in the 1 1/2 hour session than she learned in an entire season of league play. She is on fire excited! The schedule is perfect, one evening per week for 1 1/2 hours...pure instruction, skill building, technique, and drills. The last 1/2 hour is reserved for a scrimmage hands-on-put-it-in-to-practice game. Today, she could not wait to put on her cleats and shin guards along with her tie-dyed socks. Off she went to practice, practice, practice. Seeing her so excited about this is wonderful.
Megan is usually very hesitant with new people and situations. When we arrived at the practice and she did not know a soul, I was concerned. She held back and clung to me. Oh, no, I thought, this is going to be a long 12 weeks. No sooner had I entertained that thought and the Coach blew his whistle, gathered the students and she was off to her new love.
The Coach handled the children in an amazing way. He took a personal interest in each one, even though there were 30+ kids there. His assistants were just as wonderful.
Future Soccer Reports to follow. Thank goodness our Golf Course in back is ready. The grass is perfect for Soccer, um, Golf. For now, I am the newest Soccer Mom on the block.
