Gator Report

Go Gators..... Yes, You Gators.... Get Up And GO!

This can be considered my first report from our trip to Utah, even though it has nothing to do with Utah except for the fact that the UF coach, Urban Myer, used to Coach for University of Utah. Other than that..... no connection.

Every picture tells a story... well these photos tell quite a story and make me laugh when I see them, even though the Gators lost to LSU Saturday night while we were in Utah. Ron, Curt, and Jeff attended Priesthood Meeting, which started at the same time as the UF-LSU kick-off, so we cannot blame the loss on them not being where they were supposed to be (where Andrew was, we don't know-but while he is serving a mission, we will assume he is in the right place and cannot be held responsible for Gator losses-Ha)

While the men were at Priesthood Meeting, Carmen, Alison, Amanda(Alison's sister) and I were shopping (what women do when men are at meetings!) Alison was wedding dress shopping. At the conclusion of the shopping trip, we planned on meeting Carmen's mom, Melody, for dinner and then possibly meeting the men for dessert....well the weather was DARN cold and rainy--no fun to be out in. We decided to go home and have pizza and play games. When we called Melody, she wanted to make sure she could watch the Gators game from Curt and Carmen's (they don't have cable) so she brought her own TV and here is where the funny photos begin.

Melody rigged up her own reception using the antenna (which she had to hold out straight in a certain area) and had it touching one of Shane's metal Thomas The Train cars. If you study the photos, you will note that Melody is always in the same place with her hand in the same position, holding the antenna in place so it will stay in contact with the metal train. It was a perfect set up as long as Melody sat in the same place... In spite of her diligence, the Gators just blew it.

Even the "Gator Chomp" did not help Urban Myer out coach the LSU coach....Things were getting serious and sad at this point...
A quick study of this photo is evidence that the Gators were in the lead at one point. Jeffrey was relaxed enough to shave during the game and leisurely walk around the house. This is obviously before things got tense....

Ron and Melody kept their eyes (and in Meldoy's case, hand) glued to the action. Ron was polishing off the Milk Shake from Iceberg, a yummy Ice Cream spot in Salt Lake.

Even with the sad outcome (there were tears from some fans) it was so fun to be together! I am not such a die-hard fan, yet, I cannot take too many more losses in a row! Come on Gators, come back to the field and play like you mean it! Come on Coach Urban... Coach like a Champ!
