Bagel Boy

Our Beagle Named Bagel...
Yesterday, Bagel, who has not lived with us since 2000, passed away.
Santa brought Bagel to us (me) for Christmas 1992. It was the best kept surprise Ron has ever pulled off for me!
Bagel was a great dog. I would rock him to sleep at night on my lap...he followed my around all day and "helped" me get my work done.....However, in 1997 when Katherine was born, he was confused...he thought that he was my only baby and he did not like sharing me. When Megan was born in 1999, he was devastated. He would cry and mope around in a very sad, depressed state. It seemed I could not keep anyone happy. I had 3 teenage boys who needed me, 2 baby girls to keep up with, and a sad, depressed dog. What to do , What to do.....
Thankfully, our friend, Danny, who was Bagel's babysitter when we would travel, said he would have Bagel come live with him permanantly if we would babysit when he had to go out of town. It was a deal and I was so relieved. Danny was an amazing 'father' to Bagel. They slept together, ate together, hunted together, and spent most every waking moment together. They were wonderful for each other. I will always be grateful for Danny givng Bagel such a good home when he needed it the most.
My heart goes out to Danny at this sad, sad, sad time. When he has truly lost his best friend in the entire world... "The Old Goat" as Danny refered to him.
Above is Ron in January 1993
Below is Curt in December 1992 right after he came to live with us!
For The Record.....I did not purchase the shirt Curt is wearing, nor did I make him wear it! It was a gift and I am sure in 1992, it was cool.
