Painting Time

It's Room Makeover Time
(aka project time)
Note to self: Projects always take double the time you anticipate!
The first rooms I am tackling this year are Katherines and Megans rooms.
Actually, Megan's first.
I am trying to choose a bright happy yellow that does not scream lemons or too much gold. Design Mom featured photos from Nora's house this week and you will see a very close yellow in one of her rooms. I love the color and clean lines in Nora's house.
There is just something exciting about fresh paint, especially in happy colors.
We are working around a black and white bedspread with some Mary Engelbreit accent pieces without trying to have a too busy look. I will post photos of the final choices. Megan is a busy little girl with busy plans for her room so we will meet at a happy medium on the busyness.
Katherine will keep her tropical pink and green room with some paint updates and a new bedspread, thanks to Design Mom for featuring Serena and Lily. Love Love their fabrics, colors, and design. If I were starting a baby nursery ( and there is no way I am) I would be all over Serena and Lily products. I am so excited to see their fabrics in person.
I am also in the process of choosing the colors for the exterior of our house. That is not as complicated due to the approved color palette choices from our neighborhood association. The one color change I am excited about is painting my front door something in the RED family. Stay tuned to see what is approved and what I choose. We are in the process of collecting bids for the exterior painting of our house. Wish us luck on finding the best price and service!

So much fun, I can't wait to see photos. I Love Serena and Lily too! Unfortunately the cost of the crib sets is outrageous! But it might be worth it for how much I love them all. It would be tough convincing Nik (and myself) that it is necessary to spend that much on nursery decor. :)

ps- which bedding did you choose for KatKat? They're all beautiful, but I personally love the "Scarlet" bedding.

You are never sorry with yellow paint. I had a yellow bedroom once and I woke up happy every day!

Serena & Lily are gorgeous!! I love their designs, and in fact, just finished designing my child's bedroom in their styles.

Price is really affordable if you do it right...check them out!!

Emily-I think the Scarlet is what she will end up with. Those are the colors in her room now and it will be easy to work with.

I cannot wait to see the finished product on both the girl's rooms and the house. When we painted our house in Florida we went with the painter guy who lives down the street from you. I think it's 558 in the circle to the left of you standing and looking out your front door. He painted my door red. I love red doors. I tested red on my front doors before Christmas but I can't find my sander. My doors look like something out of the Ten Commandments with a swash of red on them. I've got to get to that!
Post some "in progress photos"!
