What The World Needs
I can still remember exactly where I was sitting and who was next to me when I heard Margaret Nadauld, The Young Women General President Of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at that time, give the address, "The Joy Of Womanhood" in the Relief Society Session of October 2000 LDS General Conference.
When she gave this quote, I could not write fast enough. It is still powerful and one of my very favorite.
"The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are TENDER. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are KIND. There are enough women who are rude, we need women who are REFINED. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of FAITH. We have enough greed; we need more GOODNESS. We have enough vanity; we need more VIRTUE. We have enough popularity; we need more PURITY."
Have you heard this quote? Do you love it as much as I do? Did you see this Address delivered? I am thankful Sister Nadauld presented this powerful perspective. I truly believe the world can be changed as women (and men) embrace these virtues deep in their hearts and souls.
