Something I must admit, for some reason, this year's Birthday Number is not a pleasant thought for me. I have never been one to worry about my age, the number, etc., however as soon as 2009 rolled in, I said, Oh my...this is my last year to have a Birthday in my 40's.
Well... last night that all changed. I attended The Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons Concert at The Hard Rock Hotel and Cafe in Ft Lauderdale. Now, I am just fine with my age and hoping to be as vibrant as Frankie Vallie at his 74 years of age.(The Four Seasons were all about 25 years old or younger, so they don't count)
MORE IMPORTANTLY, I hope to be as active and on the go as THE MAJORITY of THE AUDIENCE. It was like attending a Concert with MY PARENTS (which is a compliment as they have more pep and energy than I do on any given day) I was seriously one of the youngest pups in the audience and could not have had a more fun evening.
It was a FABULOUS, FABULOUS performance. All day, I was excited, yet worrying that I may not know many of his songs. Most of his hits were before I knew what a radio was or was even allowed to listen to anything but my parents' stations (Talk Radio, Country, etc) Let's just say... for the most part, Frankie Valli and his Four Seasons were before my time, except for one of my favorites from 1974, Who Loves You....
Let me say this....I knew EVERY SONG performed and I think you would too, regardless of your age. And his voice...HE NEVER MISSED A NOTE OR A BEAT! It was so much fun to sing along with the songs that have remained hits over 5 decades.
Another concern I had was that Frankie's voice would not be the same after so many years....Frankie is showing the signs of his 74 years, but what a voice....STILL!!!! And what a Band. The new Four Seasons are Young Men with AMAZING harmony and choreography straight from the 1960's. It was classic.
If Frankie Valli and his Four Seasons comes to a town near you...ATTEND the concert AND BRING YOUR young children. I wished my little girls could have been there. They would have loved, loved every minute.
Oh....and the Bonus.......
I did not know were attending with a Hard Rock Hotel VIP Client....Dinner...YUM and 3rd Row VIP Seats.....reminds me of the seats I had for my very first concert.....1975...3rd row to see Sir Paul Mc Cartney and Wings (before he as a Sir and in a mess with Miss Heather) Yep... I was spoiled...it was hard to top that over the years!
Happy Weekend All!
