Oh Yes....
After today, I know the perfect gift for my parents. They already have Snuggie Blankets of their own, however, today, I realized they NEED His and Her Monogrammed Snuggies to wear as they visit and speak at the various Stake Conferences around Florida. Yes, today, I completely understand their experiences of sitting in ICE COLD Chapels, huddled on the stand to stay warm during a meeting.
Ron and I spoke in Stuart today and had the "Many are Cold, But Few Are Frozen" experience, as my dad calls it. Sitting on the stand, the Air Conditioning Vents Bear down directly at the row where the Bishopric and Speakers sit. There is NO escaping these vents.
Thankfully, during the Opening Hymn, a sister came up to me and wrapped a shawl around my shoulders. (I did not thinkg I was being that obvious as I FROZE) This was just in time, as I was sitting there thinking that I may not make it through the beginning part of the meeting before it was my time to speak.
A few weeks ago, my parents were sitting in the same spot during our Stake Conference. They had commented how cold it was and my dad was hoping to find a blanket for the Saturday Evening Session of Conference. I was already headed up the turnpike to the meeting and could not bring a blanket.
When I arrived that night, it was cold, but not unbearable....that is because I was NOT SITTING IN THE FRONT ON THE STAND. Today...I completely understood just HOW COLD they were up front. After today, I am thinking they should start a trend.
