Flying High

Summer Vacation came to an abrupt end Monday morning at 7am.
Time to hit the ground running or in my case...fly high for the next week.
For someone who is terrified of heights, I spend a lot of time at "High Altitudes".
My PTA President Hat is back on and the next few days are full. My entire Board took the month of July off, so we should be fresh and equal to the tasks ahead.
Wednesday, the teachers officially return to school. We are cooking and serving a Welcome Back Breakfast for the entire staff (about 100 people)
That is the easy part....yours truly has to speak at the Breakfast with all the Introductions, Nice Words, etc. that come with a new school year. Not too nerve-wracking, just feeling the pressure to say the RIGHT Nice Words.
Thursday is Megan's 10th Birthday. I am determined that she will not get lost in this packed week.
Monday is the BIG PTA General Assembly Meeting where I have to Welcome Parents, Students, and Staff Back. That is not too scary, I am used to speaking in public...it is the whole using Roberts Rules of Order that has me a little on edge, but all will work out. There are plenty of "helpers" from the peanut gallery if I need correction.
If PTA were the only area taking my time and focus, I would not be flying so high or fast....it is ALL the areas combined that create the speed and height in my life.
My only wish....another month of summer schedules. I LOVE having my kids home and nothing dictating how or when we set our alarms. For now, the alarm goes off early and the flying is High and Steady...a pace I am thankful for because of the people I associate wtih and the opportunities accompanying this territory.
