Where Were You?

Where were you when you heard that the World Trade Center
had been attacked?
I was at home in our Orchid Court house office.
I had just called the Hair Salon to make an appointment
when Vivian, who answered the phone,
told me to get off the phone and watch TV...
I turned the TV on, called Ron,
and then I watched live TV as the second plane struck.
It was too much to process at first, but the reality sunk in quickly.
I remember landing at The Newark Airport a few months later and not seeing
The Twin Towers across the river...I cried.
This photo was taken 2 months before the September 11, 2001...
Our last trip to NYC with this sky line.
Here we are below with our New Jersey Cousins with no clue that
The Twin Towers would not always be there.
Curt was in Venezuela serving as a Missionary
Jeffrey was in Idaho at BYU-I
Andrew was at Wellington High School
Megan and Katherine were watching Teletubbies
Ron was at work (Catalfumo)
My parents were in Montana where my dad was serving as
Mission President
My Sister and her family were living near New York City...
talk about panic until I heard their voices
My Brother and his family were living in New Jersey-just across the river...
relief to know they were fine and my brother was not in the City on business
My other Brother was in Atlanta
I clearly remember wanting all of my family to be together.
I remember having such a feeling of love and gratitude
for each member of my family.
What do you remember about 9-11-01?
Where were you?
What has changed in your life as a result of 9-11-01?
How do you commemorate this day?
