Our Stake Conference was an Area Conference conducted under the direction of our Area President, Elder Walter F Gonzalez. He brings a wonderful spirit each time he speaks. His remarks at the Florida Ft Lauderdale Temple groundbreaking were so tender.
Elder Gonzalez's talk focused on the Youth-The Rising Generation. He spoke from 3 Nephi 17:11.
He noted the 3 things Christ did when he visited the children:
1) Pray for them
2) Bless Them
3) Had angels sent out of Heaven to minister to them
As parents and leaders of youth, we should do the same:
1) Pray for our children by name (and grandchildren)
2) Ensure they receive Priesthood Blessings (Back To School, Birthdays, Beginning of a calendar year)
3) Minister: Teach of Christ and the Atonement. Teach children who they are-children of God, divine by nature.
As I sat in the area Stake Conference, broadcast to the entire state of FL and Georgia, South Carolina. It was exciting for me to picture my family and friends in those areas hearing the same message.
