Summer Is Fading Fast!

Last Beach Hurrah!
Yesterday was our last Group Beach Day for
The Summer of 2008.
As best we could, Tuesdays were at Lake Worth Beach
and
Fridays were at Dubois Beach Park in Jupiter.
Yesterday, we had nearly perfect weather and water.
The children played and played and played.
It was an ideal way to say good-bye to summer vacation.
Every beach day, the children work on digging holes.
Usually, there is one HUGE hole by the end of the day.
In or out of the water, the children are so happy.
Katherine buried Erick and made him into a "shark". Note
the sand "fin" near his neck. I have written about this before,
note the shovels the children use to dig. They are, hands down,
the best beach toy. They are perfect for sandboxes and just
plain digging at home, also. You can find them with the
children's gardening supplies at Target or WM.
I am not sure who has more fun.... the children...or the moms!
I look forward to spending the day with the awesome women.
I feel blessed to call them friends.
Stephanie, Lynelle, Sally, and yours truly...you can call us
The Beach Moms!
Happy Back To School Everyone!
Summer was totally fun, just not long enough!

The Official Start of Summer

It Is Officially Summer....
Yes, I fully realize that on the calendar and by the moon, sun, and stars
this Saturday, June 21 is the official start of summer.
However...our summer started today..
Guess Where?
Lake Worth Beach!
Time to work on tanning my legs! Yikes!
Note the Pier in the Background behind Katherine. Since the Pier was damaged
extensively during the Hurricanes of 2004, it has been closed. I am happy to
report that it is finally being re-built! Hooray!!!!
Megan and her friends, Taylor, Alison, Lyndsey, Shayna, and Skylee worked
hard at digging an enormous hole. I LOVE these shovels available at Target
and Wal Mart in The Garden Department. They are the best for digging!
The hole became so large that Megan was buried...a little too well.
The sand was so packed that it was difficult for her to emerge
from the pile. Note to self and all...do not pack the sand when
burying anyone!
Lacy, Kelly, and Skylee
The sun must have fried part of my brain today as I am actually
posting a photo of myself in a swimming suit!
Lurenda, Sally, Stephanie, and Me!
Beach days are as much fun for us moms and they are for the
children!
If you are in the area...
Join us for Summer Beach Days....
Tuesdays at Lake Worth Beach..North End
Fridays at Du Bois Beach Park in Jupiter!

Summer Is Off To A Great Start

Every Thursday all summer long is Beach Day for all the moms and kids from Church and our community and friends. We went to Lake Worth Beach today, however, see the end of this post for great news...
A subtitle for this post should read: Welcome Back Klein Family! Enjoy the photos of your first return to The Beach!
Taylor, Sadie, Alison, Megan, and Katherine bury Shayna as a welcome back to Florida!
Everyone took turns being buried or burying someone. This was Forrest's turn to be under!
Note the shovel with the long handle and red scoop. We got them in the children's gardening section at WM last year. They are the best beach toys/tools ever. Target has some adorable shovels like this in their children's gardening tools section. My friend, Stephanie got some at Lowe's. Keep your eyes out for this great outdoor "toy". My girls love these shovels and so does every kid on the beach!
This is Alison under all that sand!
Alison has her turn with being buried...
Hooray!
OK--For the Great News! After 2 spring breaks and 2 summers without Du Bois Beach Park in Jupiter---it is open! I saw it with my own eyes this afternoon. I had just about given up on seing Du Bois ever open again. It is so nice, all the large sharp rocks are gone, all the sand bags are gone. The Inlet, Crab Island, the entire area of Du Bois Park is open. The Jupiter Pier and Jupiter Beach
are still closed. The erosion a from a few months ago will keep them closed all summer. The Life Guard Stand is in the Parking Lot and t he wood stairs that lead down to the beach are gone!
I have some great Du Bois photos I plan to scan as "Blast From The Past" memories. Stay tuned...you may see someone you know.
