Santa Lucia Day

Happy Santa Lucia Day!
In honor of my Swedish heritage, we are celebrating Santa Lucia Day today.
With the rush out the door to school, our early morning Cocoa and Donuts will have to be served as an after school snack.
Santa Lucia Day is celebrated in Sweden and other Scandinavian Countries. The oldest daughter in the the family, or the mother, dresses as Santa Lucia with a wreath of candles on her her head. She wakes the family and serves Cocoa and Pastries. Her arrival welcomes the Christmas Season and is believed to drive out any evil spirits that would detract from this joyous season.
What a beautiful way to bring peace to Christmas.

Are you going to don your wreath with candles on your head? Do post pictures of that!
