EVERYTHING for the Schools, Teachers, Students rides on FCAT Performance...EVERYTHING. Passing, Failing, Graduating, Funding, etc.
Over the weekend, The Superintendent of Schools, Art Johnson, called with a recorded message. He reminded parents and students to eat a good breakfast, including a serving of protein, to limit activities each evening before Testing, to be on time for school, and to get a good night's rest.....
Yea right...the first week AFTER we LOSE an HOUR due to Daylight Savings Time. This happened last year, also. Hello? Does this make any sense to you or is it just me? Let's get out a Calendar and think this through...

OK, so maybe I am just a little cranky due to losing an hour of sleep last night., but does this make any sense to you?
I feel better already, just putting this in print. Now I am off to get some sleep. After all, I have to be up early cooking a nutritious Breakfast EVERYDAY this week, protein included.

Ah yes, the FCAT. But what's this about a "good breakfast, including a serving of protein"? That's a hokey load of garbage. What the kids need is sugar to get their brains moving! Feed them chocolate.
We have the same thing here. Takes all the creativity out of teaching in my opinion. About their timing, yeah that wasn't so bright on the state's part. I don't know anyone adjusting to Daylight Savings very well. My kids certainly are not at their happiest right now.
