The End--Harry Potter #7

Time to Celebrate... Harry Potter and My Laundry????
When I returned from the airport early this morning, I was determined to finish reading Harry Potter #7. I am happy to report: I am done! In case you are wondering... or don't want to say it... I am a very slow reader. I get the job done, but on a much slower time table than most avid readers. Even though it has been a long time since reading the other books in the series, I must say, this was my favorite. Being afraid to read the ending, I was pleasantly surprised....I liked the ending. The Epilogue could have been a little more detailed, yet it was fine.
I also appreciate all those readers who finished days ahead of me for not spilling the beans as to the details and ending! There were so many twists and turns. Some were huge surprises and some, I pieced together and figured out.
Now for the real reason I am so excited to finish this book......I need to spend some time in this room.... as well as a few other areas in my house that need attention.
The laundry, dishes, floors, bathrooms, dusting, cooking, spills, clutter piles, etc, all waited patiently while I indulged myself in a little mindless summer reading. I knew they would be there for me when I was done. How comforting...not!
Ron will celebrate my return to a normal sleep pattern (whatever normal is for this night owl) and welcome a warm meal prepared on time. I am sure he will not mind if the laundry is folded and he does not have to step over a pile to walk in the door.

Reading Progress....

Still Reading...
Unlike the rest of the planet....No....I am not finished ready Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Believe it or not, I still do not know the exact ending. I have 1/4 of the book to complete. I started the day the book was released and here I am... still reading... a little at a time.
After a slow and somewhat dragging beginning, it is getting very exciting and will be easy to buzz through the last pages.

The Third Time Is A Charm....

If the 3rd time is a charm.... then today, I should feel very "charmed". For the 3rd time this year, I was quoted in the Palm Beach Post. Today's quote was regarding my prediction as to how the new Harry Potter #7ends. Yes, that is me, the elderly mom's voice, quoted with all the children in Palm Beach County..Click here and here for the other Palm Beach Post articles.

While in Orlando today, I got my Harry Potter Book. On the ride home, I started to read it to my family. I probably started reading when most of those who got their book at 12:01 completed the book. I enjoy the books, but I am not one of those who stand in line, stay up all night for the book release, read it all in 5 hours type of fans.

So far, it is exciting. Off to a great start....and already full of twists and turns. Happy Reading to all my fellow Harry Potter Reading Fans....

Library Opening

Wellington Library News...
What is summer without the Library? Incomplete. Trust me, I know first hand. Last summer, our local Public Library closed for renovations. This summer started without the Library... again! With the Wellington Branch of The Palm Beach County Library System closed, we have been out of sorts. No checking out huge piles of books, books on tapes, DVDs, Story Hour, Crafts, or Writing Workshops.
With children, Library Day is as routine as going to the beach, the water parks, the zoo, or any other anticipated summer activities.
Exciting, and I mean EXCITING news..... this Saturday, July 21, the Wellington Public Library is re-opening. From the outside, it looks huge and beautiful. This is cause for great celebrating! Perhaps a cake.
The Public Library drought is coming to an end!!!!
I am much more excited about this Library re-opening than the release of the Harry Potter Book that same day. I will, however, be excited to read the Harry Potter Book. I just hope the ending is not plastered all over the media and I can actually read it and be surprised.
Watch for my post on our Summer Reading VS TV/Computer Program. One week and it is working famously.

Harry Potter #7

Calling all Harry Potter Fans
The Palm Beach Post is having a contest in anticipation of the July 21 release of the new Harry Potter Book #7, 'Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows'.
Predict the how the book ends!! Readers are asked to submit their version of how they think Book #7 ends. The person(s) closest to the actual outcome win a prize and will be featured in an upcoming Palm Beach Post article regarding The Harry Potter Books.
Yes, I admit, I have read all the books and look forward to this one. I like the books better than the movies. I started reading them when there was controversy claiming they are evil and I wanted to be able to take an educated stand for or against them. I totally enjoyed them! I find them to have the basic literature themes of good vs bad, light vs dark, etc. I don't take them so seriously.
This subject (of Book #7's ending) has provided much discussion in several corners of my world.
How do you think it ends?
Want to enter the contest? For those who have never won anything... this could be your lucky break!Submit your summary in 150 words or less by June 8 to: rachel_sauer@pbpost.com or mail to: Harry Potter Contest, The Palm Beach Post, PO Box 24696, West Palm Beach, FL 33416.
